Audition Dates: Saturday, September 14. 2024: 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

Philadelphia Youth Concert Band auditions are open to student woodwind, brass, percussion, piano, and double bass players. The Philadelphia Youth Concert Band (PYCB) accepts students ages 10 through 16.

Philadelphia Youth Concert Band rehearsals take place on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., mid-September through mid-May, at The Shipley School, Piltch Commons, 814 Yarrow Street, Bryn Mawr, PA 19010.

Audition Requirements

Performers will be asked to play 1) required scale, 2) their own selection from solo or ensemble repertoire, and 3) required excerpts. Please see below for specific requirements for each instrument.

The applicant and/or parent/guardian agree that all decisions concerning placement and participation in the PYCB program are at the sole discretion of the artistic staff, and that their decisions are final.

Annual PYCB tuition for the 2024-2025 season is $1,795. A non-refundable deposit of $550 is due at the time an accepted student registers for the PYO Music Institute. Tuition balance is due by the first rehearsal of the concert season.
