Tax Credits 101
How does it work?
Pennsylvania residents can receive tax credits by contributing to approved educational organizations like the Pennsylvania Youth Music Education Fund (PYMEF)!
This year PYMEF is seeking $300,000 in qualifying tax credit gifts from PA residents, through the Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit (OSTC) and Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) programs.
With the transformative power of your tax credits, you can help PYOMI open doors of opportunity for students. Every dollar you contribute to PYMEF shapes a brighter future, fostering potential through instrumental music education.
What types of taxes qualify?
Q: Who Is Eligible?
Most individuals or households with a minimum PA tax liability of $3,500 or more. The majority of individuals earning over $200,000 and households earning over $350,000 in Pennsylvania are eligible to receive these tax credit incentives.
Q: How does it work?
- Make a minimum donation of $3,500, or larger if you choose, up to the amount of your annual state tax liability. Your two-year commitment* will be dedicated to PYO Music Institute by PYMEF.
- Sign the PYMEF joinder contract and PYMEF will register your gift with the state for 90% credit against your PA tax liability by Dec. 31, 2024.
*A one-year only gift will allow for 75% credit towards tax liability.
