How long have you been a member of the PYO Music Institute and in which ensembles did you participate?

Molly: 5 years- YMDO, PYAO, and PYO.
Gabriela: 3 years, PYO

Do you have any plans or activities planned for the summer?

Molly: Traveling to Lake Michigan with my family.
Gabriela: Performing with the National Youth Orchestra (NYO-USA).

What is one of your favorite PYOMI memories?

Molly: Playing “Concerto for my Family” with Mr. Meyer, and receiving masterclasses at Curtis.
Gabriela: Being backstage in Verizon Hall and hanging out with my friends!

What are your most recent musical and/or academic achievements?

Molly: I’ve been inducted into the French National Honor Society.
Gabriela: Performing as a soloist with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, being featured on NPR’s From the Top Show 451, and being a quarterfinalist in the Fischoff Chamber Music Competition.

What are some of your favorite pieces of music that you have performed with PYOMI?

Molly: Rimsky Korsakov’s Scheherazade and Berlioz’s Symphonie Fantastique.
Gabriela: Shostakovich’s 5th Symphony and Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante.

When you are not in rehearsal or practicing your instrument, what other activities or hobbies do you enjoy?

Molly: I enjoy reading classic novels and baking French food.
Gabriela: Singing, music directing my school’s musicals, listening to music, and reading.

What is one unique attribute about you that people find surprising?

Molly: I’ve lived in 3 different states.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years? What do you see yourself doing?

Molly: I see myself teaching- either literature or music.
Gabriela: Traveling the world playing music!
