Colleen Hood

Colleen Hood brings over 15 years of professional experience in the classical music field as an administrator, performer, and educator. Having recently served in leadership roles at the Curtis Institute of Music and Astral Artists, she was previously the PYO Music Institute’s General Manager from 2006-2013. As a professional bassoonist, Colleen regularly performs with the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, Opera Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Ballet Orchestra, The Philly Pops, Black Pearl Chamber Orchestra, and has appeared with Orchestra 2001, Symphony in C, Relâche, and the Baltimore, Delaware, and Taipei Symphonies.  A graduate of the Baltimore School for the Arts, she holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Temple University in Bassoon Performance, and maintains a private teaching studio.
