Prysm Strings – New Jersey Auditions

Now Accepting 2024-2025 Audition Applications

Audition Date: Friday, September 6, 2024, 6:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

Prysm Strings NJ auditions are open to student violin, viola, cello, and double bass players.  

Prysm Strings NJ rehearsals take place on Friday evenings from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m., mid-September through mid-May, at Katz Jewish Community Center, 1301 Springdale Road, Cherry Hill, NJ 08003.

  • Students are selected and placed by the sole discretion of the Director based on musical ability, maturity, and experience.
  • It is recommended that all students be enrolled in private lessons.


Audition Requirements for PRYSM STRINGS – NEW JERSEY

  • Students should have completed Suzuki Book 3 or equivalent. 
  • Students should play two scales of their choice, one major and one minor, in two octaves, détaché, with quarter notes equal 60 on the metronome. 
  • Students are to bring one solo piece of their choosing.
  • A short sight-reading passage will be provided at the audition.
  • Students should have permission of their private teacher to audition and participate in Prysm Strings New Jersey.


The applicant and/or parent/guardian agree that all decisions concerning placement and participation in Prysm Strings New Jersey are at the sole discretion of the artistic staff, and that their decisions are final.

Annual tuition for the 2024-2025 season is $1,995.  A non-refundable deposit of $550 is due at the time an accepted student registers for Prysm Strings New Jersey. Tuition balance is due by the first rehearsal of the concert season.
