How long have you been a member of the PYO Music Institute and in which ensembles did you participate?

I’ve been in PYO for the past two seasons, but have also played as a substitute in PYAO and Bravo Brass.

Do you have any plans or activities planned for over the summer?

This summer, I will be participating in the BUTI Orchestra and Percussion Workshop. This will take up most of my summer, but I hope to have some time leftover to spend time with my friends in family in Philadelphia before leaving for college.

What is one of your favorite PYOMI memories?

Playing Symphonic Dances last year was one of my favorite experiences with PYO. Not only did we feel connected with the music, but I felt that our performance conveyed a real sense of the spectrum of emotions that are encompassed in the piece.

What are your most recent musical and/or academic achievements?

All-City Concerto Competition Winner, Full-Tuition Scholarship to BUTI

What are some of your favorite pieces of music that you have performed with the PYO Music Institute?

Symphonic Dances, Carnival Overture, Shostakovich Symphony no. 5.

When you are not in rehearsal or practicing your instrument, what other activities or hobbies do you enjoy?

I love to be physically active, cook for family and friends, and spend time learning about topics that interest me (ie. history, science…). Other than this, I enjoy spending times with people who are close to me, as well as reading books.

What is one unique attribute about you that people find surprising?

Most people are surprised to hear that my first language is French, and that I am actually French-Canadian.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years? What do you see yourself doing?

In 10 years, I hope to be somewhere in the world making music and enjoying life. If by the time I am 28, I can foster a healthy balance of family time, sports, and musical development, then I will have achieved success.
