Now Accepting 2024-2025 Audition Applications

Immediate seats are available for Double Bass, Oboe, Bassoon, Horn, Trumpet, and Low Brass.

Audition Dates:
Saturday, June 1, 2024, 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Saturday, June 8, 2024, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Sunday, June 9, 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Philadelphia Young Artists Orchestra auditions are open to student string, woodwind, brass, percussion, piano, and harp players.

The Philadelphia Young Artists Orchestra (PYAO) accepts students ages 13 through 18.

Audition Requirements

Performers will be asked to play 1) required scales, 2) their own selection from the solo repertoire, and 3) required orchestral excerpts. Please see below for specific requirements for each instrument.

Annual PYAO tuition for the 2023-2024 season is $1,995. A non-refundable deposit of $550 is due at the time an accepted student registers for the PYO Music Institute. Tuition balance is due by the first rehearsal of the concert season.
