PYO Music Institute Welcomes Two New Members to Board of Trustees - PYO Music Institute

PYO Music Institute is pleased to announce the addition of two accomplished business leaders to its board of trustees, Marc Barrer and Raghu Kuntamukkala. Their appointment reflects the organization’s ongoing commitment to strong governance and strategic growth as it continues to expand extraordinary music education opportunities for young musicians across the Greater Philadelphia region.

Marc Barrer brings extensive operational and e-commerce leadership experience to the board. He currently serves as Chief Operating Officer of J.W. Pepper, the world’s largest sheet music retailer, a role he assumed after three years as a member of J.W. Pepper’s own Board of Directors, where he developed a deep understanding of the company’s mission and market. Prior to joining J.W. Pepper’s leadership team, Barrer served as COO of Mishimoto, a premium aftermarket automotive systems company focused on high-performance cooling products, where he honed his expertise in e-commerce operations, customer service, analytics, software operations, and high-velocity fulfillment systems. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Barrer has a deep-rooted passion for music, having trained as a classical pianist and participated in his high school marching band and percussion groups. He resides in Flourtown, PA, with his wife of 25 years and their three children.

Raghu Kuntamukkala is an entrepreneur and technology executive focused on building businesses at the intersection of data, artificial intelligence, technology services, and life sciences. As Founder & CEO of Empower Data Solutions, he helps organizations build scalable, secure, and trusted data foundations that enable AI, improve operational efficiency, reduce cloud costs, and deliver measurable business value. He also leads Sunray Informatics and Empower Clinical Solutions (DBA SASRA.ai), expanding his work across technology consulting, staffing, clinical data management, and AI-enabled clinical services. Beyond business growth, Kuntamukkala is passionate about creating opportunities, developing talent, supporting local communities, and building companies that create lasting impact. He resides in Bucks County with his wife and children. His daughter is a current member of Philadelphia Youth Jazz Orchestra.

Chairman of PYO Music Institute’s Board of Trustees, Robert Pick, expressed his enthusiasm about the new additions to the board, stating, “Marc and Raghu bring exactly the kind of operational rigor and forward-thinking leadership that will help PYO Music Institute continue to grow and thrive. Their combined expertise in business strategy, technology, and organizational operations will be invaluable as we work to expand access to extraordinary music education for the next generation of young musicians.”

As PYO Music Institute continues its mission of fostering artistic growth and personal development in young musicians, the addition of Marc Barrer and Raghu Kuntamukkala will undoubtedly strengthen the organization’s efforts in providing exceptional musical experiences and educational opportunities.
