PYOMI Presents the Inaugural Prysm Strings - New Jersey Concert  - PYO Music Institute

Cherry Hill, NJ: PYOMI (Philadelphia Youth Orchestra Music Institute) is thrilled to announce the inaugural concert of one of their newest programs Prysm Strings – New Jersey, taking place on Sunday, February 8, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at the Katz JCC in Cherry Hill. This exciting event marks the latest chapter in PYOMI’s legacy, bringing world-class music education and performance opportunities to the South Jersey region. 

Under the leadership of former Associate Concertmaster of The Philadelphia Orchestra and international violin solo artist, Michael Ludwig, and Rachael Ludwig, Prysm Strings – New Jersey will highlight the extraordinary talents of young musicians with a captivating program that showcases their dedication and artistry. “Rachael and I are so happy to be part of this program that will richly serve the youth of our community in South Jersey,” said Michael Ludwig. “Our repertoire is wide-ranging. From Vivaldi and Mozart to Beauty and the Beast and beyond, our musical selections will cross genres and cultures, celebrating beautiful music from around the world and many time periods.” 

As part of PYOMI’s mission to provide exceptional music education and ensemble experiences to students from diverse backgrounds, Prysm Strings – New Jersey further extends the organization’s 85-year legacy. Ludwig adds, “We are proud to contribute to PYOMI’s continued growth and excited to expand our reach, offering even more young musicians the opportunity to be part of this transformative community.”

About Prysm Strings – New Jersey 
Prysm Strings – New Jersey is a dynamic string music education program designed to offer unparalleled instruction and performance opportunities for violin, viola, cello, and double bass students at the Katz JCC in Cherry Hill. With weekly side-by-side rehearsals alongside PYO Music Institute faculty and string interns, students benefit from a collaborative learning environment that fosters musical growth and builds confidence. In addition to Winter and Spring performances, students have the chance to perform at the prestigious PYO Music Institute Showcase at the Kimmel Center, home of The Philadelphia Orchestra. Prysm Strings is committed to providing a supportive, enriching community for young musicians to thrive and grow in their musical journey. 

Prysm Strings – New Jersey is an expansion of PYOMI’s Prysm Strings program, launched in 2007 by the late William dePasquale, Co-Concertmaster of The Philadelphia Orchestra, and Gloria dePasquale, former cellist of The Philadelphia Orchestra. Prysm Strings helps students develop musical, ensemble, and interpersonal skills.
