PYO closes its historic 87th season with a season-defining program. The evening opens with a newly commissioned work by American composer Paul Frucht, whose music has been praised for its “individual voice” and “sense of lyricism, driving pulse, and great urgency.” Frucht previously wrote a double bass concerto premiered by PYO in the 2024-25 season, featuring Ranaan Myer as soloist. Concertmaster of The Philadelphia Orchestra David Kim returns as soloist for Bruch’s beloved Scottish Fantasy, and the concert concludes with Mahler’s epic Symphony No. 1, “Titan.”
