Bravo Brass auditions are open to student brass and percussion players ranging in age from 12 through 21 years.

Audition Requirements

  • All players are required to play their choice of a solo or two contrasting etudes. In addition, each player must perform the required excerpts for their instrument. Please download the required excerpts below.

  • Trumpet players must be comfortable transposing C trumpet parts.
  • Trombonists must read bass and tenor clefs.
  • Percussionists should play timpani, snare drum and xylophone, and be able, if requested, to play cymbals and bass drum.

The applicant and/or parent/guardian agree that all decisions concerning placement and participation in the Bravo Brass program are at the sole discretion of the artistic staff, and that their decisions are final.
