Auditions for the 2021-2022 Season will be held online via Acceptd.

Schedule and Audition

Auditions for the 2021-2022 season will be online video-recorded auditions instead of live in-person auditions.

To submit an audition:

  1. Submit required audition materials via Acceptd, the official online audition platform of the PYO Music Institute. (Note: there is no fee to submit an audition)
  2. Wait for official contact from the PYO office to receive your audition results. Audition applications submitted by the Priority Deadline will receive their results by May 12.
  3. Once accepted, you will be emailed instructions for completing an online registration form.

Bravo Brass auditions are open to student brass and percussion players ranging in age from 12 through 21 years.

Audition Requirements

  • All players are required to play their choice of a solo or two contrasting etudes. In addition, each player must perform the required excerpts for their instrument. Please download the required excerpts below.

Horn
Trumpet
Trombone
Euphonium
Tuba

  • Trumpet players must be comfortable transposing C trumpet parts.
  • Trombonists must read bass and tenor clefs.
  • Percussionists should play timpani, snare drum and xylophone, and be able, if requested, to play cymbals and bass drum.

The applicant and/or parent/guardian agree that all decisions concerning placement and participation in the Bravo Brass program are at the sole discretion of the artistic staff, and that their decisions are final.

Annual tuition for the 2021-2022 season is $1795. A non-refundable deposit of $550 is due at the time an accepted student registers for the Bravo Brass program. Tuition balance is due by the first rehearsal of the concert season.
