The Philadelphia Young Artists Orchestra shines in their opening concert Sunday, December 10, 2017 at 3 p.m. Conducted by Maestra Rosalind Erwin, the performance will take place at Perelman Theater at The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. This concert blends sections from the Nutcracker Ballet and orchestral masterpieces performed by the gifted students of the Philadelphia Young Artists Orchestra.

The afternoon begins with Dukas’ Fanfare from La Peri and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 2 in D Major, Op. 36, and continues with Tchaikovsky’s Excerpts from Nutcracker Ballet Suite No 2, while closing the performence with Liszt’s Les Preludes.

Maestra Erwin looks forward to the opening concert. She said, “Each year, as we prepare for the season opening concert, it’s heartwarming to watch the students as they prepare. They are dedicated to performing at their highest level and their determination makes me very proud.”
