The musically gifted students (age 12 to 18) of the Philadelphia Young Artists Orchestra (PYAO) will perform their first concert of the 2016-2017 season on Sunday, December 18, 2016, at 3 p.m. The concert will take place at Temple Performing Arts Center located at 1837 N. Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA. Conducted by Maestra Rosalind Erwin, PYAO is an ensemble of the prestigious PYO Music Institute.

The repertoire for the concert includes excerpts of Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker Suite, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5 in C minor, Op. 67 and Wagner’s Overture to Rienzi, Smetana’s The Moldau from Má Vlast.

The selection of music includes some new additions to the repertoire as well old favorites. Maestra Erwin shared her pride in the students, “It is personally rewarding to conduct these talented young musicians who are so dedicated to the music. This program will showcase their talent and will provide a wonderful opportunity for families to share the joy of music this holiday season.”
